Veteran Assamese actor Biju Phukan passed away today at the age of 70 in Guwahati. Phukan, whose illustrious career spread over several decades, has done some of the most remarkable works in Assamese film industry.
Throughout his career, he was deeply associated with Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio, a society under the Assam government. The chairman, Pabitra Margherita, Secretary Monita Borgohain and the entire fraternity of Jyoti Chitraban have expressed deep sorrow at the loss of the legendary Assamese actor and send their deepest condolences to Biju Phukan's family and friends on his sad demise.
