Jyoti Chitraban Organizes ‘Aaideu Smaran’ in Memory of the First Actress of Assamese Cinema

Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio, Guwahati paid tribute to the first actress of Assamese cinema, Late Aaideu Handique on her death anniversary on December 17, 2017 through an event titled ‘Aaideu Smaran’, a brainchild of Pabitra Margherita, Chairman of the Film Studio. The event which was held in association with Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute, and cinema organization, ‘Adda’, was chaired by renowned film director, Arup Manna as its Chief Guest. The programme started with the welcome address by Monita Borgohain, Secretary of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute. Notable personalities from television and film, ex-secretary Chayaram Rajbongshi, scriptwriter Shambhu Gupta, actor Upakul Bordoloi, artist Sadananda Gogoi, directors, Rajen Rajkhowa, Dhiraj Kashyap, Nesimul Majid, producer and Jonmoni Devi Khaund addressed the event, and appreciated the organizers for such a special programme.

Besides, renowned film directors, Chandra Mudoi and Dr Bhupendra Kaman, and actress Moni Bordoloi, director Rupak Gogoi attended the gathering. All the speakers and artistes proposed the establishment of a statue of the great actress, and organizing ‘Aaideu Handique Film Festival’
