This issue's Cover Page is dedicated to World Heart Day which is observed every year on September 29, 2017. We couldn't be more glad than this issue to have this theme, not just due to its medical significance but due to the fact that 'it's all about our hearts'.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death and disease in the world. According to the official website of World Heart Day, over 17.5 million people die from CVD every year. The World Heart Day is, therefore, a day to pledge for awareness of heart diseases so that our dearest ones may live longer. Philosophically, the heart is the sole power source for the entire body. It stays there, doing its job so that we may breathe, think, walk and work. It is our responsibility to keep it safe from harm. This can be fulfilled by knowing the essentials in keeping our hearts healthy. Staying away from tobacco and smoking, eating healthy food and understanding what the heart needs are the best ways to protect our hearts. More information on this can be grabbed from the website www.worldheartday.org.
