Assam Chief Minister, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, took part in a music digitization campaign launch event of the Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive today at Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio. At the event, the honourable Chief Minister digitized the evergreen song of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala ‘Gose Gose’ from a vinyl player to symbolize launch of the music digitization campaign.
The music digitization campaign launch event of the Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive was held on 17th January, 2018, on the occasion of Jyoti Chitraban’s Golden Jubilee Celebration and Shilpi Divas in remembrance of Jyoti Prasad Agarwala. The campaign is targeted to make a huge impact on the youth of the region in encouraging them to learn about our culture and folklore. The concept goes with the ‘doer’ concept of our honourable Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi, when he actively took part in Swachh Bharat mission by participating in the cleaning himself.
The entire music digitization campaign launch event was spearheaded by the head of Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive & Assamese experimental music artist, Axl Hazarika, who has also become the first Indian to rank in SoundCloud Global Top 10 Trance music chart. Axl Hazarika’s trance track titled ‘Trippy Experience’ has been the only Indian entry in the SoundCloud Global trance music charts Top 50 since the last two years. The track has amassed a whopping 8.7 million plays till date and is currently ranked #5 on SoundCloud Top 50 global trance music charts. Axl Hazarika is a multi-genre music composer and producer from Guwahati, Assam, who started from heavy metal and rock in early 2008 to making the first Assamese electronic music video in 2016. ‘Goru Bihu Song’ (link - http://bit.ly/2x3AY8j
