First Guwahati International Children Film Festival Held

Guwahati city flooded with International film personalities in the biggest children film festival of Northeast India's history.

The 1st Guwahati International Film Festival (GIFF) 2019 was held with a bang during January 19, 20 and 21, 2019. Around 50 international films from all over the world were screened in one of the largest children film festivals in India. The opening film of the festival is the multi-award winning film Halkaa directed by Nila Madhab Panda.

Other notable films to be screened at the festival were - Renkli (Turkey), Hog's DIce (China), Nani Teri Morni (India), Edhel (Italy), The First Day of April (Israel), Badaboo (Belgium), Armada (United Kingdom), and many others.

Axl Hazarika, Assamese experimental music artiste, Head of Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive and a core member of the organizing committee said, "We are overwhelmed at the response we received to 1st Guwahati International Children Film Festival 2019. Nice to see such interest in international films among the student community of Guwahati & Assam as a whole. And, we are thankful to all our guests for making this the best cinematic festival for kids ever to happen in Northeast India"

The 1st Guwahati International Children Film Festival 2019 has been organized by Jyoti Chitraban in association with DBHRGFTI under the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Assam.

Some of the celebrity guests of Guwahati International Children Film Festival (GICFF) 2019 were - Darsheel Safary, Master Tathastu, Vinay Pathak, Vinod Ganatra, Sivakumar, Pradeep Kilikar, Suraj Tiwari, Pinaki Sarkar, etc. Most of them are multi-award winner including the national awards related to films about children.
