A Pedant's Finger
- Bipul Kalita
Oft I meet
a traditional pedant
who won’t let you ink
in heart’s frames
what you believe
to be the best structures
for expressions
of your refined minds.
Language of hearts
follows no rule
in pouring out feelings
full of thoughtful emotions.
A pedant’s finger
digs me
to seek
treasures of errors
in drops of tears
and sighs of fears
to see
if determiners
and punctuation
decorate them.....
I love him
for guarding the language
I teach
I pity him
for mistaking poetry for prose.
